May 9 is a day that unites all of us irrespective of our job, nationality or faith. This is a day of great happiness and deep sorrow.
On May 9, we commemorate our fathers and grandfathers. We commemorate everyone who selflessly defended their Motherland, worked tirelessly on the home front, treated and nursed the wounded at hospitals and had to overcome the hardships of war.
May 9 is a holiday! A holiday uniting generations. A holiday you can hardly imagine our country and each of us without. This is the Victory Day!
No matter how many years will pass, we will not forget this sacred date. The war is a terrifying page in history. But it also saw examples of endurance, courage, heroism and self-sacrifice of people on the war and home fronts.
It is our duty to make sure future generations remember the dauntless deed, unconquerable courage and valiant commitment of heroes fighting for their Motherland.
