API. Integration
On this page
The VEPAY API gives you full control of the payment flow from your code: creating transactions, token-based payments, payouts, refunds and status retrieval. Communication is JSON over HTTPS; authorisation uses a user identifier header (X-User) and an access key.
Core principles
- All requests are POST to the VEPAY payment gateway domain
- The request body is UTF-8 JSON; responses are JSON too
- Transaction identifiers: vepayid is assigned by the platform, extid is your external ID
- Asynchronicity: the operation status arrives via webhook or is polled
- A 5xx error means the transaction never entered processing — retry the request
Typical payment flow
1. POST /transaction → payment created, returns the form URL
2. Redirect the buyer to the VEPAY form URL
3. The buyer enters card details, 3-D Secure
4. Webhook to your endpoint: payment status
5. GET /transaction/{vepayid} → verify the statusThe full method reference with parameters is available in the merchant dashboard once test access is created. Key services are described in the “Our services” sections.
Test cards
Use special card numbers in the sandbox: successful payment, bank decline and 3-D Secure are emulated by different test numbers. The list is available in the sandbox dashboard.
