Recurring and periodic payments

Recurring payments let you charge a stored card without customer interaction. The foundation is a “customer + card” binding created on the first payment or via separate card registration.

Scenarios

  • Fixed-amount subscriptions: service access, content
  • Periodic payments with a floating amount: utilities, education
  • Auto-renewal with customer notification before the charge
  • Dunning: repeated retries on a schedule after a failure
The first charge always requires customer confirmation (3-D Secure or CVV entry) — a payment system requirement. Further recurring charges proceed without confirmation.
